Breeding Population

Our first infographic represents a conservative estimate of the number of Crested Oropendolas that might inhabit the city. Since more than 50 colonies have been reported, we consider that in Caracas there are more than 500 oropendolas. This information is based on the cited literature [5,6,8,9], and on the results obtained in this project (Machado-Stredel et al. 2019, 2021).
